At Bar + Block Whitely, we’re the perfect post-shopping trip pick-me-up. Whether you need a quick or leisurely lunch, a drink (or two), or the perfect date night dinner. We do it all. Pop in and kick start your day with our tender steak + eggs for breakfast. Or sit back and enjoy one of our succulent steaks right throughout the day ‘til late. Maybe discover a new favourite from our speciality cuts range on our rotating Butchers Block? And, if the weather’s good, why not take your dish or your drink to our outside patio. There’s a cocktail for every occasion, too, whether it’s an after work drink, a celebration or just because. Our mixologists are on hand ready to shake + stir your cocktail of choice or pour you a wine or beer. There’s always something for everyone.

Our location

You’ll find Bar + Block Whiteley in Whiteley Shopping Centre, near Fareham. There’s a range of well known chain retailers, a place where you can shop until you drop. We’re also just a short walk away from the cinema so the perfect place for some pre or post film drinks and nibbles. Just a short drive away is Fareham and a range of beautiful walking spots from Hill Head Beach, Titchfield Abbey and Westbury Manor Museum.

Tom and our front of house team at Bar + Block Whiteley look forward to welcoming you and serving up our famous steaks, hand cut to any size and

cooked to order. They’re a passionate bunch with an in-depth understanding of all things steak and wine. Over at our bar we have expert mixologists ready to help you unwind with a signature cocktail - or two! So just let us know if you have any questions, even if it’s about the city itself, and we’ll be happy to help and to make recommendations.

Chef’s choice

Our chef, Lewis recommends starting your meal with the King Prawns in Harissa sauce before following it up with the main event of 20oz medium cooked Ribeye steak with Beef Dripping chunky chips and garlic mushrooms. And if you’ve got room for one more: The Churros Sundae.

Chef’s choice home recipe

Here are Lewis’ top tips to recreate the magic of our expertly cooked steak at home:

To recreate the magic at home:

● Go to your local butchers and select the cut of meat depending on your pallet (See our home page for info on each cut).

● An hour before you cook, remove the steak from the fridge and allow it to reach room temperature. Rub with oil and add a good pinch of sea salt and black pepper.

● Add your steaks to your pan (or BBQ), ensuring the equipment is really hot. Remember to turn half way through cooking so that the meat will caramelise beautifully and evenly, leaving a delicious crust.

● The cooking time will vary depending on how you like your steak cooked. I like mine to be grilled for approx. 6 minutes to give the perfect medium rare.

● Once cooked to your liking, let the steak rest for a couple of minutes before serving with the sides and steak sauce of your choice.

● If you fancy a twist, marinate overnight in blended garlic, parsley and oil to give an added flavour boost.
