Why not come and try our signature cocktail, exclusive to Durham Bar + Block and inspired by The Legend of Dun Cow (so much so, that's the name we gave it!). Local legend states that the city of Durham was founded in 995 AD by divine intervention. Local monks searching for a resting place to bury St Cuthbert met a milkmaid, who in turn was looking for her ‘Dun Cow’. The search led them to Dun Holm, the cow was found and the monks built a settlement, now the location of Durham Castle. We think it’s worth dedicating a drink to that good fortune!

Our chefs recommend the Dinosaur Short Rib. We take Angus beef rib that’s been matured for 30 days, slow-cook until tender and finish over charcoal for a unique, smoky flavour. Paired with our fresh homemade chimichurri and coal-cooked mini garlic potatoes, this one’s big on flavour! We recommend that you enjoy this dish with a glass of our Vistamar Matinal Merlot. Cheers!
